Arrived port of Philadelphia, PA on the Snow Good Hope, Caot. John Trump from Hamberg. Qualified the 1st of October, 1753 as Johann Conrad Klieham. Resided Lancaster Pa 1758 where his son Frederick was born, as evidenced by Frederick Claycomb's application for a Revolutionary War pension on which membership in the D.A.A was granted, cert. # 110948.
Purchased plantation on the bank of Potomac River, Berkeley Co., Va. (now West Virginia) consisting of 130 acres. Apr. 27, 1773, where he resided during the years of the American Revolution. Deed records old spelling and new spelling of name.
Conrad Claycomb on Sept. 30, 1780, with others, furnished wheat to the State of Virginia, under an act for procuring a Supply of Provisions and other necessaries for the use of the Army, cert.No.88, Berkeley Co., Va.
Henry Claycomb was administered the patriots Oath of Fidelity and Support, 1778, by the Worshipful John Barnes, Washington Co., Maryland on Feb. 28, 1778.
