Oldest surviving child of Walter and Mary (Fry) Harris who came to New England in1637 on the Speedwell with their six children and three servants.
They settled in Weymouth and Dorchester, Massachusetts, and New London, Connecticut. Sarah was about 12, her next youngest sister, Mary, was 10,
brother, Gabriel, 8, sisters Elizabeth, 6, Susanna, 3, and brother Thomas, 1 (who returned to England). Mary married Nicholas Lawrence and Elizabeth
