" John came from Hingham, Eng" in 1635 with w. Frances and Dau. Mary. He had a grant of five acres of land in our Hingham on Town (South) St. near the spot where Dr. H.E. Spalding resides. At the time the new meeting-house was erected, he and his two sons were located on East Street below Cushing's Bridge"
