- From "The Christian Zetty Family of Washington County, TN" Paula Gammell, East Tennessee Roots 1985:
"In the fall of 1805 (27 Oct 1805) Christian (or Christopher) Zetty (or Citty) first purchased land in Washington Co., TN. .... After purchasing the 285-acre tract, he remained there for the remainder of his life, only selling 121 acres of it to his son Christopher Jun., in 1833.
There are 5 known children of Christian Zetty, Senior: Mary, Hannah, Christina, Christian Jun., and Elizabeth. An unidentified Zetty is Samuel Zetty, of whom there are two Wash Co. references. He appears in one tax list, 1819, of age with no acreage. A Samuel Zetty is also witness to the above-mentioned 1805 deed. What happened to this Samuel Zetty is unknown.
Christian Zetty Sr. in his will mentions 5 children: Mary Crumpacker, Hannah Wottenbarger (sic), Christiana Barger, Elizabeth Hinkle, and Christian Zetty Jun. He also mentions his wife Barbara; son-in-law George Hinkle was names as executor"
