- From "Wheeler Family History" Raymond Wheeler & Gordon Wheeler:
"Thomas Wheeler of the Town End, Cranfield, Beds. and also of Austen Allen Close at Wharley End, Cranfield, was b. say 1578, and was possibly buried at Clerkenwell, St. James, Middx. [London], 21 Jan. 1640/1 The names of his wives are unknown. He perhaps m. first at Chalgrace, Beds., 13 April 1600, Dorothy Holloway, dau. of Hugh Holloway, bap. at Bedford, St. Mary, 13 Oct. 1574. He perhaps m. second, at Clerkenwell, St. James, 5 Nov. 1625, Jane Mitchell, and perhaps m. third, there, 30 Nov. 1631, Elizabeth Claye.
This Thomas Wheeler was mentioned as a distinct individual at the baptism of his son Richard on 13 June 1614, and in the 1623 land survey of Cranfield....
No will has been found for this Thomas Wheeler, and the grouping of his children at Cranfield has been determined by working backwards from Richard, and attributing to him those children of Thomas Wheeler who did not fit into families of the other two Thomas Wheelers."
