"Captain Anthony Eames (1595-1680) was probably the son of Thomas (b. c. 1548) and Millicent of Fordington, St. George, Dorset, England. Thomas Eames d. 25 June 1618.
Anthony Eames was b. 1585 at Fordington, St. George, Dorset, England. He married in Dorsetshire before 1618 Margery Pierce; he was a church warden for that parish in 1622, 1627, and 1631. He came to Charlestown, MA between 1631 and 1634, moving to Hingham in 1636 and to Marshfield where he resided 1653 to 1661. He was a Deputy to MA Bay Colony in 1637, 1638 and 1643, to Plymouth Colony in 1653, 1658 amd 1661; also a lieutenant and captain in 1644 and 1645; a member of the Council of War in 1657. He d. in 1686."
