Notes |
- He moved his family to Upper Saucon, Northampton, Pennsylvania.
It looks like there were at least 2 Owen Owens around about the same time and they all seem to be claimed to have been sheriff and coroner of Philadelphia Co. It seems likely that the Owen Owen that married Anne Wood and d. in 1741 in Philadelphia was the sheriff and coroner based on the notice in the Pennsylvania Gazette Aug 6, 1741 "Yesterday died after a long illness, Owen Owen, Esquire; formerly High Sheriff, and for many years Coroner of this city and country."

Margaret was the widow of Rees Nanney (married Dec 1746 at Horsham Meeting House, d. 1747 in North Wales) and the widow of John Cadwallader (m. 1730, d. 1742). Her maiden name may have been Peters, though that may have been an earlier husband. It's not clear how she was the aunt of the Owens'. On the Cadwallader site, Margaret Peters is described as "a widow of Warminster." She is likely the Margaret Owen who was a witness at Owen Owen's wedding.
Thamer Dunn might be:

Prove Date: 15 Mar 1726

The Mary Kite may be the Mary Peters who married Abraham Kite in 1708.
It's also possible that Margaret is the dau of Thomas Peters in the following will, but that seems less likely, more likely, this is the Thomas Peters mentioned in her will:

Ancient Record of the Settlement of Plymouth Meeting
About the year 1685, the township of Plymouth was originally purchases, and settled, by James Fox, Richard Gove, Francis Rawle, John Chelson, and some other Friends, that came from Plymouth, in old England, who dwelled here for some space of time, and kept meetings for worship at the house of the said James Fox. But being most of them tradesmen and citizens, and not used to a country life, they removed to Phaildelphia: by which means the place became vacant for a time. But being again purchased chielfy by Friends, viz. David Meredith, Edmund Cartledge, Thomas Owen, Isaac Price, Ellis Pugh, Hugh Jones, and divers others; and as there was several adhacent settlers in Whitemarsh, viz, John Roads, Abraham Dawes, David Williams and several more Friends; thes, in the year 1703, by the approbation of Haverford monthly meeting, unto which they then joined themselves, kept their meeting in the possession of Hugh Jones; where it continued for some years; and them by concent was removed to John Cartledge's house, where it also continued for some years.

Mary and Owen Owens, their children Margaret &Thomas, and her three Samuels children
lived in Plymouth Township until about 1730, when they joined a group of their neighbors at the
Great Swamp Meeting in moving to Bucks County and establishing the Richland Meeting. No
letters were required since they were known to one another. Moved to Upper Saucon Twp., in
Bucks Co., later Northampton, now Lehigh Co. ca 1730, with the folks who broke off from the
Gwynedd MMand settled the area known as "The Swamp."
A third child, David Owen, was born to the couple, but his birth record has not been found. After
Owen Owen's death Mary, Thomas and Margaret Owen conveyed a portion of Owen's land to
"youngest son David Owen." Margaret Owen married Richard Thomas. Thomas Owen married
Richard's sister Jane Thomas. In 1748/49, Margaret Nanna (Nannau?) of Germantown made a
will mentioning David &Thomas Owens, Margaret Thomas, and Thamer Dunn. (This Nanna a
possible sister of Owen Owen.)
Owen Owens, Joseph Samuel and Isaac Samuel all received land warrants in Bucks County,
Pennsylvania in 1730. They had adjoining land tracts in Upper Saucon Twp. in the 1740's.
Joseph sold his land to his brother Isaac Samuels and half-brother David Owen when he
moved back to Plymouth Twp, where he died in 1753.
