Funeral for Mrs. G. W. Morley
Funeral services for Mrs. G. W. Morley, 80, who died Thursday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock, were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in the Grace Methodist church. Rev. Frank E. Ryerson conducted the services assisted by Rev. J. H. Sutton and Mrs. Vern Follette sang two selections and Mrs. Sutton sang a solo. Pallbearers were William Yearout, James Montogomery, Rev. J. E. Hopkins, Rev. W. R. Stotts, Rev. M. U. Ramsburg, and Isaac Schatz. Interment was made in Maplewood cemetery.
Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Morley, daughter of William and Julia Dunblazier, was born in Wellsburg, W. Va., April 23, 1848. She was married to George W. Morley Jan 26, 1866, at Bernadotte, Ill. To this union was born eight children, a daughter, Daisy, dying July 11, 1916. Those surviving are: Mrs. Nina Anders, Olewine, V?; Mrs. Charlotte Evans, Fall River; Mrs. Mattie Duncan, Lineville, Iowa; Bruce W. Morley, Denver, Colo.; Bishop Morley, Emporia, and Mrs. Letha Morrison, of Osowatomie. The husband, George W. Morley, also survives. There also are 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.
Elizabeth Jane Dunblazier came west with her parents to Vermant, Ill., when she was seven years old. The family later came to Kansas in a covered wagon in 1885. She had been converted and joined the Methodist church in 1882 at Summit, Iowa, and in 1886 her husband began his work as a minister in the Methodist church. For 15 years Mrs. Morley assisted her husband in his ministerial duties. At the time of her death she was a member of the Grace Methodist church in Emporia. For the past two years Mrs. Morley had been in poor health. June 4 she fell and broke her hip at her home. She never rev
