Notes |
- From "The Bigelow Family Genealogy" Patience Bigelow:
" .. John Biglo, immigrant ancestor of most persons surnamed Biglo, was a son of Randall and Jane Beageley or Baguley, of the parish of Wrentham, Suffolk, England. The Beageley/Baguley family were newcommers to Wrentham, being a branch of a much older family from Baguley, Cheshire, England.
As early as 1243 Richard de Baguley, Lord of Baguley, owned lands in the County of Chester. He married Alice, daughter of Ralph de Verdun. Their heir was Ralph de Baguley, who married a daughter of Hamon de Massey, Baron of Dunham Massey, and owner of lands in Baguley and Ollerton in the parish of Knutsford, Cheshire. Ralph de Baguley had three sons,: John, William and Hamon."
