  • Notes
    • From "Geneologies of Rhoads-Scott and Related Families" 1986:

"It is believed that the first generation of the Rohads family was Heinrich Rhoads (Rode) Senior who arrived in Philadelphia from Rotterdam aboard the ship "William" on 31 October 1737, John Carter, Master. With Heinrich Senior was a son, Heinrich Rhoads (Rode) Jr., and Daniel Rode, who could have been another son. Little is known about Heinrich Senior after his arrival.

Some of the stories connected with Heinrich Rhoads Senior are that he was born in Manheim, Germany in 1686 and was married to Catherine Cauble (Cable), d. of Abraham Cauble. Catherine was also b. in Germany about 1688. Heinrich is said to be the same Henry Rhoads who brought land in Frederick Co., Md and died there in 1748. There have been no records found to confirm that this Heinrich is in fact the first of the Rhoads family..."
