      "The first tenent of the little farm was 'Thomas Brenton' in 1678 (Suff. Deeds) Presumably he was the 'Thomas Brental' who by his wife Esther had the following ch. recorded in Boston:

      (255) An account of the funeral charges and debts paid "Due from the Estate of Thomas Brentnall Deceased 1692, given in this 27th; of December 1695 by Samuel Brentnall and Nathaniel Brentnall sonnes to December & Bondsmen with their Mother Easter Brentnall is as followeth." Items: "for the goeing to John Richmond & the Staying for the writting of a Deed 3 dayes man & Horis"; "To Cash payed John Richmond for to Signe said Deed"; Paid Steven Arnold, Leut. Preferued Abell, Robert Avery of Dedham, "John Ware of Wrenham, Senr;", Samuel Brentnall "Thomanchest", Thomas Read, Wm. Carpenter Senior, John Willmath, Will; Carpenter. Junr, Richard: Georg, William Ireland.
      This account was given into the Register's office at Bristol by Samuel Brentnall and Nathaniel Brentnall, son of said deceased, and sworn to by them as a true account to their certain knowledge particularly acted by each of them except the payments to Preserved Abell, William Carpenter Jr. and William Ireland, "which they are informed was Transacted by their said mother: before John Saffin Probator: John Cary Register; 27 December 1695. On 10 September 1697 the within named Hester Brentnall made oath to the truth of above account before John Saffin, Probator; John Cary Regr; The inventory of the estate of Thomas Brentnall late of Taunton deceased given by the administratrix Hester Brintnall did amount to £126,,15,,02. Entered 1 October 1697 by John Cary Register.
      (226) "Bolton February the 5th; 1701 Received of Mrs. Easter Smith Adminitratrix to her Husband Thomas Brentnall of Wading River Received of Mr. Samuel Brentall the sum of three pounds six shillings of Mr. Samuel Brentner by her order & is in full of all accts, whatsoever for the acct of Mr. John Jolliff dec. I say received by me Jarvis Ballard Executor to Mr. John Jolliff". Signed Jarvis Ballard.
